Elli Beach
Elli Beach is the central beach of Rhodes town and one of the most famous beaches on the whole island located at the northern end of Rhodes.
The pebbly beach is about 400 meters long from the port of Mandraki to the Aquarium of Rhodes. Its waters are crystal clear and mostly quiet.
Elli beach provides all the comforts you need to enjoy a wonderful sunny day. It is equipped with sun beds and multi-colored umbrellas. You can also find a variety of beach bars and restaurants in front of the sea.
If you love water sports, Elli Beach offers a range of water sports such as parasailing, ringos, fly fish and scuba diving. In the same area you can also visit the Aquarium of Rhodes, where you can discover a variety of fish species. -
Lindos Village
Lindos is one of Rhodes’ most beautiful villages, and clearly one of the best places see on the island.
It takes around 1 hour to reach the village, located 50 kilometers South of Rhodes City.
Classified as a major archaeological site, Lindos is a real postcard landscape: you will be amazed by the pretty white houses built on the hillside and its Acropolis overlooking the village and the sea. -
Beaches
Rodos has many spectacular beaches and sandy coves.
The island offers a large collection of Rhodes beaches with various amenities, including hotels, taverns, bars and watersports centers. All beaches in Rhodes have crystal waters and they are unique in natural beauty.
Among the best Rhodes beaches are Tsambika, Saint Paul's bay, Ladiko, Kallithea, and others. The southernmost coast of Rhodes, Prassonisi, is ideal for windsurfing and kite surfing. -
Rodos History
In 1912 Italian troops took the island over with the rest of the Dodecanese Islands, and established an Italian possession known as Italian Islands of the Aegean in 1923.
The architect Florestano Di Fausto can be considered the father of Italian Rhodes.
He, in agreement with governor Mario Lago, was author of the city plan of 1923, choosing to respect almost totally the walled town, only demolishing the houses that were built on and around the city walls during the Ottoman era.

Tsambika Beach (Tsampika)
Tsambika (or Tsampika) beach combines the extremes: bikini beauties on a dream beach on the one hand and pious pilgrims to the miraculous Marian icon on the other.
Tsambika beach, also a popular destination for excursion boats, is one of the most beautiful beaches of the east coast of Rhodes, and still unspoiled.
The beach is well frequented, but even in midsummer hardly crowded. -
Rodos Windmills Mandraki
Early maps and a famous 1486 woodcut1 show some 18 stone tower mills located around the harbour used to grind corn for export.
The most famous 3 mills on the whole island are located on akti boubouli on the east mole of Mandraki harbour. Although widely featured on postcards, they are now sadly in poor shape.
All have lost their sail spars & it would appear that the windshafts & cap roofs are poor modern mock replacements.

Rodos Greece
The Greek island of Rodos (also Rhodos or Rhodes) is one of the Mediterranean's most popular resorts and a perennial holiday favourite for any lifestyle!
By far the largest island of the Dodecanese, also known as the "Island of the Sun God Helios", Rhodes island combines a variety of characteristics that make it unique as a travel destination.
The island reveals itself to the eyes of the visitor as a magnificent explosion of colors and activities that combine a mix of interesting sights and relaxation, unique nature, learning and entertainment.
Tourism on Rodos has a long tradition. Ever since the Italians replaced the Turks as the dominant power in the south-eastern Aegean in 1912, and after the island was returned to Greece in 1947, Rhodes has been gradually turned into an attractive tourist destination by continuous investments in tourism infrastructure, making the island one of the most highly organized travel destinations in Greece.
Its beautiful beaches, its state-of-the-art buildings and hotels, its picturesque districts, its medieval buildings, its archaeological sites and its rich history contribute to its reputation as one of the most interesting and attractive urban centers of the Mediterranean region.
